Giovanni received his training mainly from his lifelong friend and former clubmate Harrison Hue and the late Bruce Capin, who taught at the University of Florida. While he was a member of the Gators Men’s Saber team, Giovanni achieved individual and collective success against various NCAA division programs and competitive collegiate clubs. One of his most memorable experiences was being part of the trio that came in second place at the College Fencing Championships (USACFC), narrowly losing to the University of Michigan. Today, Giovanni is a budding National referee and current Sabre coach at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA.
