Grant Gibbs

Fencing Coach

Grant Gibbs trained for 14 years under Maestro Gene Gettler, one of Georgia’s most celebrated Fencing Masters, whose championship pedigree and decades of coaching excellence at the original Atlanta Fencers Club left a lasting impression on Gibbs.  He trained in the same tradition that produced regional and national champions — including one athlete who earned a spot on two US Olympic Teams — Grant absorbed not only the technical demands of foil fencing but also the discipline and dedication that Gene instilled in every student he coached.

Throughout his competitive career, Grant accumulated meaningful tournament experience, building the competitive foundation and love for the sport that continues to drive him today. From his very first lessons through his final middle school bouts, Grant’s early years on the strip shaped the coach and mentor he has become.

Today, Grant Gibbs is committed to growing the sport and giving back to the fencing community, carrying forward the values and passion that were first sparked in him by one of Georgia’s finest at the Atlanta Fencers Club Foundation (AFCF).
